I provide face-to-face therapeutic counselling for individual adults, with weekly sessions lasting around 50 minutes long. My therapeutic approach (based on the model called psychosynthesis), is primarily based on relieving suffering. There are many reasons why people are considering therapy, perhaps relating to past, present or future situations and experiences. This could for example include:
- alcohol/drug/behaviour addicions & obsessions / 12-steps support
- anxiety & depression, loss of meaning
- emotional, physical, sexual abuse and trauma
- sexual/gender identity
- relationship and sexual problems
- grief
- personal/emotional/psycho spiritual development.
I believe that it is essential through the development of our therapeutic relationship, that I create a safe, confidential and supportive environment for you. I focus on developing a respectful and loving place for you to gently explore the situations and experiences in your life for which you are seeking support, perhaps resolution and a clearer internal direction for the way ahead. It is a way for you to gain a stronger sense of your true self, to bring resolution to previous and current problems or traumas, and to make healthy, informed choices about YOUR future.
My training is in psychosynthesis counselling. Psychosynthesis recognises the presence of body, mind and spirit in and around our lives. The primary objective of my work is to relieve suffering.
I work from home, with easy access to Timperley, Altrincham, Sale and beyond. I also work from a therapy centre in Didsbury.
I provide short and longer term therapy, which will depend on each persons needs. Sessions are for 50 minutes, once a week and the cost is around £35.00. In some circumstances I can charge a lower fee for people with financial difficulties.
I am a member of the British Assocation for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), and as a professional requirement, have regular clinical supervision and take part continued professional development and training.
Please contact me to arrange an initial meeting, during which we will both consider if this type of therapy will be helpful for you.
